On Wednesday, February 27th, in the crowded hall of Sava Centre, the film Green Book premiered. The US Ambassador Kyle Scott spoke to the audience before the screening and presented the film referring to the problems of racism the film was about, which exist even today. The film is based on the biography of the legendary pianist Don Shirley, who set off on a tour with his uncouth driver from the Bronx during the sixties in the American South, deeply divided by racial segregation. The Green Book recently won three Oscars, for Best Film, Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali). CEBEF Director Damir Handanović and City Secretary for Culture Ivan Karl welcomed his Excellency in the VIP Lounge of Sava Centre before the screening of the film.
