Stitches combines elements of thriller and melodrama, and deals with the story of newborn babies abducted from hospitals, which has been a hot social issue in Serbia recently. The script is inspired by the testimonial of a seamstress from Belgrade who has been searching for her "dead son" for almost two decades. She has been fighting with hospital administration and doctors, the police, courts, and municipality officials, in order to obtain the right death certificates that would prove where her newborn son was buried. After almost twenty years, she believes that she has found her son in a suburban neighborhood some 15 kilometers from Belgrade.
